IRS Refund Status
To receive an update on your tax refund at irs.gov you need your Social Security Number, your Filing Status and the amount as shown on your tax return.
To receive the filing status update you will need your Social Security Number or IRS Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, the Filing Status shown on your tax return, and the Refund Amount.
You must enter the exact whole dollar amount shown on your tax return in the refund box. Providing the exact whole dollar amount is essential to receiving the correct response from the IRS agents.

State Tax Refund Websites
Check your State Refund website for the status of your income tax refund.
Alabama – 24 Hour a Day Income Tax Refund Hotline 1-800-558-3912
Alaska – Alaska does not require you to file a personal state income tax return so no tax refunds are given.
Arizona – Online Refund status is not available on the Arizona Department of Revenue website. They have an automated telephone inquiry system to check on your Income Tax return processing status and tax refund status. The telephone numbers are: (602) 255-3381 (Phoenix) or Toll -free statewide, outside of Maricopa County 1-800-352-4090.
Arkansas – Toll Free for Arkansas residents only January 1-May 15. (800) 438-1992
California – You can check the status of your California State tax refund online at the California Franchise Tax Board website.
Colorado – The Colorado Department of Revenue website offers residents tax refund information.
Connecticut – Connecticut state income tax refunds are issued within eight weeks from the date that a paper return is received. CT residents may use the automated tax refund system 24 hours a day: 800-382-9463
Delaware – Check the status of your Delaware state tax refund online using the Delaware Division of Revenue website or call (302) 577-8200
Florida – Apply Online for Refund of Tax Overpayment of Florida state taxes. Complete a refund application DR-26 or DR-26S online to start the refund process. Mail correspondence to: Florida Department of Revenue Refunds Process P.O. Box 6470 Tallahassee, Fl 32314-6470.
